WHAT OUR PARENTS HAVE TO SAY

HEAR ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE THAT THE TRIPLE P PROGRAMME HAS HAD ON THEIR FAMILIES

Hillingdon Parent who attended: Triple P Teens – October-November 2020

Just as I thought that I lost touch with my beloved teen, the Triple-P course has helped me to understand my teenager better and provided me with valuable information and improved skills so that I can deal with my own emotions and ultimately teach my teenager to do the same.

Most importantly it helped me to understand gaps in my own approach, which helped to improve the relationship with my daughter. Meave is a great trainer and shared tonnes of practical advice and examples which can be applied to real-life situations. Over the duration of the course I gained a lot of knowledge and practical strategies that have already proved to be beneficial to me and our family as a whole. The interaction with other parents is also really helpful and enables learning from experiences of others.

There are many courses out there offering management training in a work environment, but nobody prepares parents for the teenage years and the hormone storm. I therefore very much agree with the concept of parenting for all and for the courses like this one to be available to all parents. I consider myself lucky for being able to participate in one, but really wish it never got to the stage where I had to ask for help dealing with my own child.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY

Julie Kelly, Director of Service Delivery, Children and Young Peoples Services at Hillingdon Council

We commissioned parenting organisation ‘Brilliant Parents’ to deliver family support services in Hillingdon in 2015, and since then they’ve established a detailed understanding of our borough and its communities.

Through the delivery of targeted online and place-based sessions, Meave and her team have worked with hundreds of families to empower them and their children to make positive changes.

“Brilliant Parents has proven itself to be a dynamic and responsive organisation, adapting programme content and delivery to emerging themes such as child criminal exploitation with the introduction of volunteer Parent Champions.LBH logo

Gaye Wright, Locality Operational Manager of BCP Council (Bournemouth. Christchurch and Poole Council) – January 2021

BCP council was recommended to Brilliant Parents by Triple P UK to deliver virtual Triple P parenting [programmes] in September 2020. From the moment we contacted Meave, Brilliant Parents responded very rapidly to our request to deliver 3 Triple P programmes and within 4 weeks the programmes were being delivered. Meave and her team at Brilliant Parents successfully delivered to 29 families, reaching over 54 children. Brilliant Parents presented us with a comprehensive evaluation of all the groups which demonstrated high levels of sustained engagement from the parents and evidenced the impact on parents and most importantly the positive outcomes this is having on their children/young people. Brilliant Parents made every step of the process from referral through to completion as seamless as possible. We have subsequently commissioned a further 3 programmes, with an additional 3 in the pipeline and are looking to continue our commissioning work with Brilliant Parents in the future. Brilliant Parents are 100% dedicated to ensuring parents/carers receive the highest quality service and their rapid response to our request ensured families were engaged on the programmes quickly.

Communication and response times from Brilliant Parents have [been] very impressive. A huge thank you to Brilliant Parents for all their work with us to enable BCP families to access timely Triple P programmes.BCP FB logo

Dee Burn, Operations Manager, Holloway Prison

Having attended these seminars, I was extremely impressed by the way Ms Darroux was not only familiar with the context of the seminars, but also was able to put the women at ease, mostly by speaking to them not at them. She brought the content to life, using examples which the women could relate to. She also adapted the sessions with examples of how women could put things into practice while in prison. . I would thoroughly recommend Ms Darroux not only to prisons but to any area where there may be families that are deemed hard to reach.

COMMISSIONER IN HARROW

Meave displayed vast knowledge when delivering the Triple P programme, and catered accordingly to the parents’ own individual needs. The work did not end there – Meave had efficiently written up a report of the overall programme she had undertaken.

My experience with using Brilliant Women has been positive, effective and straightforward without any complications. Meave did offer her services to me for any future programmes, and I would definitely not hesitate in contacting Brilliant Woman again if the need arises. A truly outstanding company, which any Local Authority would benefit from working with.Harrow Council FB logo
